Open Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 6pm.
During assembly and disassembly of exhibitions, some rooms can be inaccessible.

Free guided tours for individuals (subject to availability of the guides)
- from Tuesday to Saturday at 11am for the historic site, at 14h for the contemporary art exhibition (except Saturday), at 15:30 for the design exhibition,
- Sunday at 11 am and 2 pm for the contemporary art exhibition, 3 pm for the historic site, at 4.30 pm for the design exhibition.

The Grand-Hornu is closed on 24, 25, 31st December and 1st January.

Pets are not allowed.


ENTRANCE TICKETS

  • Individual ticket: 10 €
  • Reduced rate (seniors or otherwise reductions*): 6 €
  • School groups and children:
    2 € / pers
  • Free entry for children under 6 years old
  • Audio guide, tour of the historic site (FR / NL / DE / UK / IT / SP): 3 €

The entrance ticket entitles you to visit current exhibitions at CID, the MACS and an access to the Grand-Hornu site.

Free entry on the first sunday of the month and the first Wednesday of the month for schools.

To reach the Grand-Hornu by road, exit the E19 Brussels-Paris motorway at junction 25 'Saint-Ghislain-Tertre-Hornu' and follow signs to Saint-Ghislain, Hornu. Then follow the signposts to the site entrance. Free car parking.

The closest train stations are Saint-Ghislain and Mons. From Mons station, you can reach Grand-Hornu by the TEC buses (lines 7 and 9 – Grand-Hornu stop) or by taxi. From Saint-Ghislain station, we would recommend you take a taxi to the site.

Sanitary Info

Following the recommendations of ICOM Wallonia-Brussels and SMW, the CID au Grand-Hornu takes care of your safety during your visit. 

  • We ask visitors to wear a mask Inside the site. Each visitor is invited to present himself at the reception desk with his own mask. 
  • Specific markings are put up at the museum reception desk to manage the arrival of visitors and thereby respect the rules of social distancing. Please respect them. 
  • In the exhibition rooms (and other closed rooms), we will respect the rule of 1 visitor per 15m2 . The stewards manage the flow of visitors. Thank you for facilitating their work. 
  • Families/couples/roommates living under the same roof will have to visit together at the same pace. 
  • Payments by electronic terminals are preferred. In the absence of the contactless option, the device is disinfected after each use. 
  • Audio guides are disinfected after each use. 
  • As long as measures for groups are in force, no group visits, whether free or guided, will be permitted. 
  • Access to the cloakrooms and storage lockers is not allowed at the moment. 
  • Access to the toilets is regulated according to the rules of social distancing. 
  • Hydroalcoholic gel is made available to visitors at the entrance and exit of the museum and is compulsory for each user.
