As part of its Utopies artistic programme which brings architecture into dialogue with other disciplines (art, design, geography, etc.), the Cultural Institut of Architecture Wallonia-Brussels presents an exhibition casting four projects that, through experimentation and exploration, attempt to “repair the world.”
By reconsidering a plant, materials, or geographic boundaries, each team reinvents uses and forms in order to transcend what once defined their existence. dallas, Camille Bleker, and Camille Gaillard set out to make asphalt precious and appetising. Cathy Crochemar and Tom Quin transform the invasive plant - Japanese knotweed - into a material for construction, care and storytelling. mire and Camille Mézi-Fardin explore geographies beyond politic borders, seeking a deeper understanding of bioregions and their identities. Finally, TNM and calm_e collective build a floating habitat by repurposing urban waste.
The ICA and CID invite you to the opening on Saturday, September 27 at 6:00 PM.
In partnership with the CID. With the support of Cellule Architecture de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, Loterie Nationale, A+ Architecture In Belgium, Mons Gestion Centre-ville.
